A more subdued version of the boldly patterned rice paper butterfly of Malaysia is the Champagne Ricepaper, found only on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi.  The impressive wingspan is barely controlled by its diminutive, slight body and results in a lilting, sporadic flight that is really more of a controlled glide.  In spite of its inability to outrun predators, the numbers of Champagne Ricepaper Butterflies remain strong in the wild because of its poisonous unpalatability.
